digital game

Should games be more like fantasy and less like real-world war?

I think the games should be more fantasy because it is the space for people to show their creation. Something that cannot happen in real world, can be shown in the games. It can satisfy what people want and make their dream to come true. Games are for people to relax and build up a new identity in the "Game World", i think games can set up with the elements that inrealistic. So that people can have a chance to get away from the real life.

However, I do not prefer the real-world war games. As games are for relaxation, it is not suitable for violet to show in them. Also, we cannot restrict which age group to play the games. And people may addict to the plot of the games, therefore, it is not suitable for the games to promote violet.

the 'uncle bus' video was so popular even TVB( one of hong kong local television company) used the concept of uncle bus and made a new version to promote World Cup

people make a new song for the video 'uncle bus'

youtube: Uncle Bus

it is a famous youtube video in Hong Kong in 2006, many people gave respones of it and even the news also report this video

in this video, a young man thinked that the uncle in front of him talking on the mobile so loudly and ask that guy to keep quiet, however the uncle shouted to the young man with foul language and said that he had his freedom to talk on the phone and the young man should not disturb him, at the end, the young man apologize to the uncle

the famous sentences of uncle bus are " you have pressure, i have pressure too"

" not yet solved"

because the uncle is so rude, citizens named him as " Uncle Bus"

the most important thing is that, after this video had been uploaded on youtube, hong kong citizens started to know what is youtube and use it, the news programme also interviewed the founder of youtube

software companies VS open-source software

Q1: Is there any problem with simply using the products that these two companies( Microsoft and Apple) create for us?

Ans:

  1. need to update all the time
  2. expensive to buy the license software
  3. cannot do any changes on the software programmes, like puppet that control by the companies
  4. the users are passive on using the software
  5. need to follow the rules of using the software
  6. unnessary software in our computers but we can do nothing on that(eg, Microsoft Vista),waste momery of computer

Q2:Why do some people choose to use open-source software such as Linux?

Ans:

  1. they have enough knowledge on changing the software
  2. the software is much cheaper
  3. save time and money for update the software as we can do it by ourselves
  4. users are more active on using the software

Q3: Who owns the right to modify your digital tools? Does it matter at all? Why or why not?

Ans:

  1. Nowdays, only Microsoft and Apple own the right to modify my digital tools as they invent the software, they are the owners of sofware, users are people who buy one license copy only
  2. and those companies do not open the code of the software so that people do nothing on changing them
  3. however, i think if people have enough knowledge( not include me) on computer and software, they should have the freedom on changing the software to satisfy they wants
  4. users try to become active on using the software but not passive

information technology

today we watch the short video about technology revolution
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4CV05HyAbM

technology really help in improve the way that knowledge is stored, created and shared

in the past:
we only find knowledge from books, magazines and newspaper,
however, it is quite time consuming that we need to find the book and then borrow or buy a copy;
it is also space-demanding in having a book;
it is inconvinent to share the knowledge with friends;
and not everyone can have the chance to create knowledge and share to publice

however, nowadays is a technolgy century:
most of the knowledge is post to the internat,
it really saves the space to store the book and save paper;
and all of us have the chance and right to have a look,
or maybe get a soft copy;
people can create the knowledge together such as wikipedia and share with others;
if there is any incorrect information, we can correct it through internat easily
