Week 9- Technologised Bodies
Q1: To what extent are we already experiencing a man-machine symbiosis that has turned us into cyborgs (or posthuman bodies)? Chirstiane Paul (Digital Art, p166)
Recently, our world become improving a lot. More technology is used in our life, we can be be seperate from technology. For an example, using mobile phone is being a part of our life. If one day i forget to bring my mobile, i will be very nervous and feel uncomfortable. Technology also make our life become more perfect. Such as glasses, it can make people with eye problems see things clearly
Q2: What are some pros and cons of becoming a cyborg

Pros:
- can help people to work
- can satisfy people's want(eg. stronger)
- everything can be mended
- can cover the weakness of human body
Cons:
- less of human emotion
- cannot exactly replace human
- unnatural
- i can't imagine that a human can be explain like this way before watching Stelarc's work
- break the traditional art form
- showing human in a new angle of art

some challenges digital art presents to the art world
- art form is difficult to classify
- art culture is changing very fast, it is difficult to keep on the new art form
- difficult to set up of the exhibition, such as technology materials, software
- high cost on setting up or present the digital art
- special techiques and materials are needed to present the artwork
- digital art need more time for people to understand, people may still stay in the traditional art form
- digital art need more technical skills
- create troubles for people to appreciate the artwork, in the past, we just went to the museum or gallery to see the painting, but now, we may need to use the computer and use internat to look the digital artwork
- the digital art may not suitable for all age groups to understand
- digital art may easily to copy and cause plagiarism
- broad range of works
